so how does this work, you post pics here and people say what they want and ask for them to be held at the meeting or is it just first come first serve?
I'll hold a few pieces for pre-arranged trades and/or friends, but beyond that it's essentially first-come, first-serve. I posted colony pics on here to give an idea of what I'm bringing, but I can't hold stuff for just everyone. There's no guarantee that someone who expresses interest will make it. If someone really wants something and didn't get it, there's always another meeting around the corner.

Hard to tell what anything is once they are bagged up for a few hours at the meeting.
Very true, so I'm planning to bring a photo of every parent colony that I took frags from.

thats what i'm doing as well, taking pics of the frags open at home and bringing them w/ me for people to browse through. even if i bring a tank and setup i don't think the frags will look that good, as when they are fully open and happy in one of my tanks.

Can someone give maybe an overview on how this will look and feel, as a complete newbie to a frag swap , it feels this one will be very overwhelming.

I have a dumb question, I have a single membership, but I would like to bring my wife to the swap, so does this mean I have to pay $15 for her to get in???? Its not like she is actually buying anything

If you would like to bring your wife you can upgrade to a family membership for $5 when you get there. :)

When we renew for 2007 do we get a new membership card, or do you just throw a sticker on it the 2006 card?

Most likely you will get a new card. I will have an answer for you for sure very soon.

Sorry, one last question, will they have a list of members. I did not get a 2006 card (Paid at the end of the year) nor do I have a 2007, but I did pay.

thanks,

I went to the one last summer, which was at the Women's Club. It was packed, every table full of stuff (corals and equipment), and a line at the door to get in. Some people bring display tanks, others bring stuff pre-bagged and ready to go. It's more selling than trading, at least from what I saw. Think of it as a garage sale for reefkeepers. And, as with garage sales, the best stuff generally goes early.

This time it's at a different location (more space?), and we have LFSs participating as well. Should be fun!

YES, more space! :celeb3:

We will not have name badges ready. I'll try to bring some blank name stickers for everyone to wear. The school will be open at 10 for vendors to set up. Nothing can be sold until 12 though.

Just wanted to remind everyone, be sure to bring grocery bags for people/you to carry their corals away in. Juggling a million bags can get tricky. ;p

I need some rare colorful zoos and leathers for my small tank, if you got em post a pic so I can know what they look like.

friend brought this up
dont the sponsors need occupational licenses for this event ( additional ones since it is off site)
