Foam Collapse

I just put another 6055 in my 40ish gallon tank. Both are controlled by a singlecontroller, pulsing from 30% to 100% every six seconds. The flow is impressive to say the least. I have a photocell attached to calm things down at night. Before the lights come on I always have a nice thick column of foam in the 9005. When the lights come on and current increases, the foam collapses. It says in the 9005 manual not to install the skimmer in an area of too much flow or the performance will be compromised. Is that just referring to an in sump installation? With the amount of flow around the skimmer that there is should I close the door on the front? With it all the way closed will the performance be greatly diminished? It seems like I would process more than 5% as the manual states with the amount of water moving around it. Would decreasing the duration between pulses help?

You might just try redirecting the flow, probably the flow is near the intake grate and if it crosses it in may create a bit of suction.

Disregard my needless panic. I'm home from work now and the pumps are blasting and the 9005 is skimming. Thank you as always for you fast response and the bag of salt. I look forward to trying it.
