Foam Rockwall w/ built in refuge for a 26 gal bowfront

Any updates??

I used an epoxy resin I had to affix a thicker sand to the wall. Looks a lot better. I was bummed after seeing the silicon mess that I made. It's not quite as nice as yours but it turned out pretty nice. I had to ditch the shell idea for the water outlets. I brought home the wrong size hole saw arbor. I didn't feel like trying to grind away at it and end up with stitches.

Salty, better off not losing a finger to the hobby!

Well, I got to install the mp10w :)

Still don't know how it works yet, but it's all set up for the next month.

I will be away from the tank until the first week of January so the cycling will have to do its thing.

Still getting more diatoms and have the timer set up so the skimmer and light are on during the day and off at night. The mp10 is on low 24/7 and in night mode. Heater is also on.

Updated pic of the tank with the mp10 all hooked up.

Back from the beach and found these neat anemone's washed up!

They look like little cylindrical blobs as they can suck themselves in.

2 Calliactis tricolor anemone's that I let attach to a lettered olive and broken piece of shell. Normally found attached symbiotically with a hermit crab.

Hopefully not shattered all over the floor ruining everything I and my landlord own.. Lol

The bowfront is in VA and I've been in NC for a couple weeks now and won't be back till the first week of January. I left it to 'do its thing' while I'm gone so it will most likely be covered in algae and water level will be pretty low.

The heater on 80°, mp10 on low, and lights and skimmer on a timer while I'm away.

I'll post a current FTS of my 5 gallon later today :)

Yep, here's the 5 gal that needs to be retired.... old and needs resealing.

One of my two Asterias forbesi common sea stars
-working on starting them eating pellets, they currently crawl to the surface to skim when feeding time, otherwise pretty inactive.

Thanks guys!

If you asked the fiancee, its move of an addiction! ;)

The 5 gal was my first tank for the freshwater fishes. Had to downsize them the 2.5 and transfer the sw to the 5 when I got more corals.

The plan is to get rid of the freshwater altogether so the only tank is the bowfront.

And then the 5 gal will become a frag tank... And the 2.5 a little bedside tank... The the bow becomes a 40! And so on...

Oh you know there can never be enough tanks!

I kind of limited for space in the current place, I acquired a free 55gal tank and sold it - what will power lol. Got $80 to feed the addiction though ;) And I have soo much time and effort invested in the bowfront that I want to see flourish!

One of these days, I want to do a biotope for fiddler crabs. Make a reinforced 'beach' so they can burrow with waves in a long tank with tidal fish.

I'd love to see it if go that route.

That would be really cool. Girlfriend has me tempted to look into building a 36x36" 10" tall tank with an island in the middle for mangroves and crabs. I build a similar tank for mudskippers once years ago but I was too inexperienced and couldn't keep it going. We don't have the floor space for something like that in this apartment.

Getting a new phone today with 13 more megapixels than the current 8 mp phone. Hopefully this will take better pictures!

Will post some pictures later today.

Salty, now what's more important... A bed to sleep in or.. A bad a$$ aquarium in the middle of the floor!
