I have a ? in regards to the temperature requirements for keeping the Cirrhilabrus jordani species.

In my research I find conflicting information, some suggest temp range from 25--28 deg C (my tank is at the high end of this scale but can easily lower w/ fans to a acceptable level) Other info states temp range of 21--24 deg C ( only way I can meet this is beyond my means at this time so I would have chose a different species)

I know there are many on this board keeping this species and your input will be greatly apprieciated.

Thankyou for your time, Chris

These fish are very touchy especially the males. Make sure that you get them from a reputable source and treat them with prazi-pro to eradicate any flukes that may be on them (mine died from this after having it for over six weeks with no signs).

I haven't heard of any specific temp requirements. I do know that they are from deeper water so they may like it a little on the cool side.

While I don't have jordani, I keep mine (rubrimarginatus, rubriventralis, lineatus, laboutei, scottorum) at 25-28 with no problem. I have not heard of jordani needing low temperature.

I found fans excellent - I have a chiller on one tank but found that during summer a pair of small desk fans over the sump pulled the temp down by about 5 degrees C. Watch your evaporation, and as a result, your salinity.
