For my first corals

I got some zoas yetserday and was wondering if my placement is okay. This is a picture of my rock setup from a month or so ago.

I put the zoas on top of that rock bridge

And a GSP and a zoa frag on the ledge on the left.

Are these placements okay? I do not have any good lights just 2 NO daylight color bulbs from home depot http://www.homedepot.com/Electrical...splay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053
Would these be okay to support these corals or do I need to upgrade? The only other corals that I am planning to get are Xenia and maybe some mushrooms. My tank is a 10g that is about 10 inches deep.

it may be possible to keep them but they wont grow very fast if at all under those lights. There are other factors they may affect them as well. your tank looks very new and i find corals dont do well until after the 4-6month mark depending on your live rock. It is possible to keep corals under normal flur lights but you would need atleast 4 or more bulbs.

I agree with chirss88, but if you can't get a total of 4 or more bulbs, try to find a blueish one (atinic) to add. It will make the colors pop out more and overall look better. Great start! =)

About 2 months now. I rearranged my rocks the other day. Here is a FTS. So where should I place my zoas? They do not seem as neon was some of the pictures I have seen and my nuclear green head looks shriveled up is that because of too much lights or not enough? It did grow another head since I last posted.

Nice first polyp... Mowhawks, Nuclear Greens and Radioactives... 1 suggestion, move the GSP on to your sandbed. Once GSP gets a hold of your main rock, they're really hard to get off it and are invasive growers.

Thanks got all of them for 10 on craigslist. Any idea why my nuclear green seems tohave much lighter looking tentacles than the one i see online?

I will move the GSP to the sand later today

Eventually you wish that the GSP never touched your rock, keeping on the sand bed will let it grow and allow for easy removal.

my nuclear green seems tohave much lighter looking tentacles than the one i see online yours look normal, it could be a variety of things that can slightly affect the look of a polyp. Tank lighting, parameters, water quality, environment, placement in the tank etc.. etc..
