Tested the Sicce Shark 800 on my freshwater tank, but thought it might be of use as a stopgap cleanup pump/filter or even regular pump on a nano-nano. The 800 is rated for 50 gallons, but there are smaller ones. Sticks on INSIDE the tank, uses suction cup (4) attachment to glass, and has compartments magnetically attached you can pop off while operating, clean the sponge and pop it back into function inside a few minutes.
The detachable filter pods are the dickens to get apart to get at the sponges, but the tiny pump handles water really well, and pushes it out with surprising vigor. It's handling that foul 50 with authority, and the water is crystal clear. FWIW.
