For those of you that run led - Budget reef led fixtures

Are there any folks in our area running any of the budget led reef fixtures like
Ocean revives
Reef breeders
Aquatraders

Lookin for some info on these with personal experience. Reading reviews I see a lot of happy reefers with them - but they are not long enough down the road and usually are growing a softie tank and such. What about packed out sps.lol

So anyone down there have any personal experience here? Much appreciated.

I had reef radiance fixtures. Recently bought a new ati dimable sunpower. Some things did well under them. Most of my sps did not, but I can't say 100% it's all the lights fault. The ati hasn't been on long enough to make that conclusion.

I am running 2 RB value lights over my 120





and have had them roughly 4 months and prior to that I was running 2 x 250 mh with t5 actinics.

Just as a side note , I was having major issues in having sps brown out and/or stn during the last few months prior to switching to leds. when leds were put over tank, the problem still continued. Once the issue was corrected with my water quality , all sps starting bouncing back with growth and color (similar as to when I ran the MH lights ). Personally I will not go back to MH due to added heat to tank and higher power consumption . Just my opinion

I used the proton24 fixture from br and I love them. Two over my 75 is great

I know TFP uses the ocean revive fixtures and it doesnt get more SPS packed then his tank.

reefbreeders photon is an amazing light for the money....

I believe O St. Aquarium uses reefbreeders over the display/frag tank right as you enter the store.. those frags look pretty good under those lights.

I thought Tim had metal halides. Did he switch?

Now that mainstream LEDs cover the full spectrum and have demonstrated SPS success, it becomes a question of cost, efficiency, features, etc. Just make sure cost isn't the only factor in a decision. You get what you pay for...

Last I saw, he was trying out 5 Ocean Revives. I'm interested in hearing his feedback on them.

I'm recently switched to Reefbreeders Photon 48 over my 120. Now if I can just follow through with my husbandry, I'll be in great shape!
