For those wanting better performance out of their skimmer....

No place has been decided on yet Lonnie. That was something that we were going to put up to a vote.

Guess since Kent is willing to do this we could look for a place on the east side just to make it a bit more convenient.

Any ideas anyone?

Greg has no thoughts...people tell him what to do. Rams and nook own him. :D

I like the night if Kent is up for it.

You're right Jack ..... I have been assimilated!

you didnt get the eheim?

None of the RS Series come with the eheims. The RC series all have footprints too large and wouldn't have room even if I ran outside of the sump. Also, I wouldn't pay $800+ for the RC-180

The Wed before New Years would be fine with me....Lon- I think that I remembered reading somewhere that the 9000s are pulling around 600LPH or so stock.

BTW- How did you know about my armpit hair modeling?

If anyone has a kilowatt meter or any other tool to measure how many watts a pump is pulling and could bring it that would be great- I'd like to see how many watts my pumps are pulling....

Count me in for two Gen-X 6000 NW. I will be picking up DST's skimmer this weekend. Do you think both modded will be to much for it? Let me know where you pick up the materials for the mods and I would be willing to pick up some so that more can be modded if needed.

I have a power inverter that hooks up to the car that lets you know how much watts it pulling so you know if you can add more.

How many watts is the pump suppose to be, I think the inverter is only up to 400Watts.

I have noticed that each one of my pumps pull more than what the box states.

I have a Fluke meter that will measure amps... I can bring it. With a little creativity we can measure draw...

Dennis- Sorry man, The mesh isn't going to help you at all with that one....

Bean- I think 2 modded 6000's is going to be to much for that skimmer. I think you'll be pretty happy with just one...

Howard/Lon....Bring em out! We'll do both and compare numbers. I think the pumps are pulling around 50 watts each (Just a guess) so the power inverter would work fine....

So are you saying mod one leave one stock and have both running, or mod one and have only one running.

I think you're only going to need one pump- It might seem odd but I think you be suprised at how much air you're getting into it with one pump....

What all will you need to make the mod? Do you have to take apart the impeller I have now to make the mod.

Impeller is coming in the mail. So I will be there with my pump, the stock impeller, and we will mod one too.
