foramlin 3 question on shelf life.

i bought a bottle i think in 03 .....does this stuff lose its potency? ill buy another bottle but if it still is good then why bother. thanks for the help. ohh yeah its formalin 3 by kordon

As I recall Formalin 03 is just a 3% solution vs the std 37% formaldehyde solution - I suspect that all formalin has a shelf life which may vary depending on how its stored. "Old" formalin can develop crystals in the solutions which are suppose to be very toxic ... if you see crystals thats a clear sign to toss the formalin.

ok thanks...i see know crystals in it . it looks like clear water. it was stored in a cool dark area. so it shouldnt lose potency?

I suspect your OK ... remember, that the 03 formalin product is a diluted formalin mixture and the std medication rates that are often quoted on this forum are usually based on the 37% solution not the 3%.

yep u uses a few drops with the higher percentage.the 3percent ...you use like a cap full.
