Forrest's Reef Tank Build

It's been a while, the tank is doing well, having a bit of an algae issue but not a huge one. All the fish are doing well and I'm seeing good growth across the board! Here's a pic from 5 minutes ago.

yeah...there has been issues with taptalk. that good news...I seen the post when you put them in. Hope mine will be friends

Hey everyone it's been a while since I've posted, life has just been hectic lately. Sadly somehow my tank got ich, I have no idea how. Maybe the alkalinity swing I had happen stressed the fish and ich was already there, maybe it was something else idk. Sadly I lost Gary the kole tang, and just list Lenny the blenny. My gramma is still in a bucket and the fire fish and mandarin never seemed to contract it so rather then stressing them all out I let them be. It's been very frustrating and I've been bummed. My tank was progressing so well I suppose something was bound to happen. However on a better note coral wise everything has been growing great. My chalices are all growing nicely and the hammer has a few new heads. Still battling patches of bryopsis and a bit of nuisance algae. But other then that it's doing good.

How have your tanks been??

Hey everyone! It's been a while. I've been quite busy with work and getting my photography business running. I added two new centerpieces to my tank a couple weeks back! I finally got an open brain which I've wanted forever and my brother gave me one of his rbta clones. Both are doing phenomenal. We will most likely be moving in the coming months and I am looking into buying a really nice RR brand new 75 gallon which would be gorgeous to have super clear glass. As my tank being used was scratched up quote a bit. With that transfer I plan on doing new sand and brand new all dry rock and while we're moving letting the new tank at the new house cycle then in a weekend move all live stock to the new tank. The rock I have acquired in just don't want to use as It has a really bad bubble algae issue which is frustrating as could be! I also added a cool sand sifting goby a while back and while I love him he definitely made a mess in the beginning and has covered most the rock with detritus which is a pain to really irradicate. Either way my tank as a whole is doing well in my opinion. Also added a blastomussa frag, a new acan frag and a war coral frag.

Here's some pics. . Let me know if you can see them!

at'sup guys! Been a while.* We are mmoving and as such I took the opportunity (good excuse really )* to upgrade! Just bought a brand new reef ready 90 gallon and stand.* It's in the new place filling up ever so slowly from the Rodi unit.* Built a nice lightt rack above it and got it in this weekend.* Will begin cycling just as soon as it is filled up.* Ordered new sand,* 35 pounds more of dry base rock,* I alread. Have 7 really nnice pieces ofdry rrock* And ordered Dr tims all n one to get it going quick.* Expect pics soon!

The new 90 is up and running. The transfer went well. Didn't suffer any losses! Added some new frags of Monti but they aren't seeming to open up to great so hopefully they do. Also added a blue tang which we love. Can't seem to add a pic though from tapatalk. Lame.

Looks very nice. May I know what kind of salt have u been using and how do u like about reef breeder light? I am thinking about getting photo 32".

Koko did photos post on my last post? I have been using IO reef crystals since I began over a year ago. And I absolutely love my reef breeders. My coral and nem have all grown very well under them and all color very well. I strongly recommend them.

What up guys! First off Thankyou to SkiNautique for the hook up with the clown fishies :fish: they are doing well! :fish:, We now officially have Dory and Nemo hahaha. The RBTA Split and both clones are doing really good it seems. Had some fun a few weeks ago and got some cool stuff in sac. Sadly right out the gate with the new set up i made the error of turning the lights up a tad to much so really bleached out alot of my Montys, thankfully they are all on the upswing and gaining their color back after i worked at finding the sweet spot. Just went through this whole thread and its pretty crazy to see the beginning of this adventure. i was really down for a while before our move about my tank cuz bryopsis and bubble algae were just destroying the fun for me as well as my corals. I am hardcore anal now about what is allowed in and how i clean and dip all frags or pieces. I also just ordered a ginormous Octopus classic rated for 200 gallons and the gfo reactor is running as well. The skimmer should be here next week so im looking forward to that. The initial diatom and cyano outbreaks are starting to die down which is nice, im sure the skimmer will finish them off. Heres some pics! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:
