Found a new worm in my tank need to ID

Mrramsey

NEO Reefer
Hi Guys - so I got home this evening and peeked in on the tank. I fed a late day snack which immediately brings out the bristle worms. I noticed another worm I had never seen in the tank before. It was simolar in color to the bristles but had no bristles, legs or a ribbed body. It was fairly smooth and about 4-5" long and maybe a little smaller diameter of a pencil. I only saw the tail end since it was going back into the rock. Any ideas as to what it may be?

Of course i didn't have my phone with me so no pic... :headwalls:

Maybe Oenonids?? Interestingly enough it says that they prey on snails. I do have a few empty snail shells in the tank. I literally got a 10 second look.

It definitely was NOT:
Fire Worm
Eunice
Bristle

I have the same kind in my tank its extremely fast and when i catch it coming out its like it can see me then scurry's back in hiding funny but it sticks its rear end out to poop i have had 6 turbo snails now I'm down to just one i don't know how many i had but my blue spotted watchman Goby grabs a lot of worms im not sure if it serves that purpose but it works for me or simply removing the rock it hides in placing it in a bucket of tank water and raising the temp with a heater critters will come running out then remove the rock and place it back in the MD you will lose the coralline algae tho

I hope it's not Notospermus tricuspidatus. My snails were disappearing and that thing was the culprit! I caught it and got it out.

Bobbit worm is what i came up with scientific name: Eunice aphroditois
a Annelids (segmented worms) species
