Foxface color change

I inherited a large foxface when I bought someones tank. He changes color constantly. Rarely is he bright yellow - he goes from pale to yellow all day in just a few minutes. What's going on?

Any idea what could be causing the stress. Water levels are good. We did introduce some new fish yesterday. Is that it?

Yes when moved it can take a couple weeks for them to settle in. Once settled it will go back to its bright yellow unless she gets upset about something

Tanks been up for about 10 days. And new fish. He is yellow at times. So assuming everything calms down, he should stay yellow?

Assuming everything settles down then yes it should stay yellow more. Foxface are skittish by nature and it does not take much to spook them.

Mine will change up when I get in the tank to do anything.

He's a really easy going happy dude otherwise. He gets excited whenever my wife (primary feeder) gets near the tank.

Stressed or nervous like mentioned above. My wife calls it the camo look

camo describes it perfectly.. mine does that at night when it's sleeping or after i stick something into the tank..

but normally, with other fish, he's totally fine. he would spike up a lot, but not change color. so if yours continue to change color, maybe it's the other fish.

supppper skittish... when it get scared and zoom around, I get scared and jump around.. then %%# falls everywhere. my friend got stun before. he described it as 10 bee stings at once at multiple locations

now i'm safe under thick gloves, but it's hard to do delicate coral work..

he would eat out of my hands, but zoom away the second a feed stick or anything else go in.. smart and skittish

You can expect continued camo at night time when the fish goes to bed. It may take a number of weeks for him to settle in since he came to you large. Are you adding new fish to your DT without QT first?
