foxface giving off some type of film?

I just watched my foxface release some type of film when my purple tang was harrassing him. Anyone else ever see this? It was floating around in the tank. He did it a couple of times. He seems fine, but it was wild to watch. It was like he shed his skin or something. It was colorless, & didn't disolve in the water.

Any information on this would be very helpful! Thanks in advance

It could have, but looked more like the top of his back on his body instead of the tops of the spines. Not sure though

I get this from my mag foxface from time to time also. Strange stuff, like a little saran wrap piece floating around the tank. I use turkey baster to slurp up as it never seems to make it to overflow for some reason. I worry it will get caught in corals.

Thanks for the feedback. It is just like the saran wrap. I don't think it's toxic as some of the other fish have sucked it in and out with no ill affects.

Weird, mine does that, but its in small peices and not alot.It must be natural, because he has no ill affects or anything.
