Foxface Lo or Chocolate Tang

I'm setting up a 125 gallon reef tank and i've been debating between these two fish. I think they both look really cool. Which fish, based on its looks, do you think is better?

Other fish I will have in the tank: Purple Tang, Whitecheek Tang, 2 clowns, 5 bartlett's anthias, 2 wrasse, schooling bannerfish, marine betta, and purple dottyback. I will also have corals of all sorts and inverts.

I would do the Fo face Lo, the White Cheek and Chocolate might have beef in the same tank.

I prefer the foxface to tangs, hands down for looks as well as disease resistence. IME, they're also a lot less aggressive.

I have a one spot foxface in my Fowlr and a chocolate tang in my reef. I'd go chocolate, great personality, beautiful fish. The foxface is the most skittish thing I own, always flipping out over nothing. The chocolate eats out of my hands. Although I would be concerned about the other 2 tangs picking on him, mine is the least aggressive of my tangs, he is in with a hippo and a yellow

Might be the tangs causing this, since a foxface is in direct competition with them for food, altho as with many fishes, foxfaces can be a bit skittish at first. Our S. lo was tame to the point of being a bit of a pest, and actually was kind of a "dither fish" and would bring out more cryptic fishes when it was out and about.

I would go for the foxface. Great fish, seldom cause problems with aggressive acts and is quite resistant to parasite issues. I would rather have a skittish fish than one that bothers the other fish.

Most of the skittish fox faces I have seen- have been in tanks with a yellow tang. The other few were in "busy" rooms- for example doctors offices, or home theaters.

Well hopefully he will calm down. He's in a tank with only 1 tang (lavender) and it's not in a busy area. But looks wise I'd still go for the chocolate tang

Based on already having the white cheek tang, I would add the foxface.

But... why not both?
I have a foxface and a chocolate tang (along with a kole tang) in my reef tank and they get along very well. No aggression amongst any of them.
The chocolate tang is my favorite tang; very under-rated.

Good luck.

I prefer the Chocolate, BUT unless you get a mature adult you have no idea what it'll end up looking like. Not all of them turn into beautifully colored adults. Some end up gray, yellowish, etc. With the Lo, they pretty much all end up looking the same if healthy.
