Frag donations needed for fellow reefers in Joplin

I will be breaking down my tank in 1 week and will probably have a few good frags. Any news on when they will be ready for them?

From what I am hearing it will atleast 2 weeks. I would plan on making trip on sat or sunday at that time.
The plan would be - everyone that is donating to meet early one of those mornings with their frags, and we could stop off at oddballs for pick up.
Please comment as to your thoughts.

The plan is to meet the morning of the day leaving for Joplin. That would make it much easier. I don't have room in my quartine tank to store frags. Just need to know from everyone if sat or sunday would be the best day to meet early am.

There has been a delay. Taking to my friend today. The holding tanks for the frags have not come in yet. It will a week or two before they come in. Then he needs time to get the tanks up and running first. We were thinking about waiting towards the end of the or shortly after. Wanted to wait for the temps to come down a bit. It will make for a long day once I gather up frags locally and then stop by Oddballs in Tulsa.

So everyone that is donating please go ahead and get fragging done so they are good and healed. Please feel free to pm me with what you can part with.

Well, we now have a date set up. September 17th I will be delivering frags. Plan to have meeting place for those that are donating in central OKC that Saturday morning 10:00. Thanks in advance!!!

OK. I will be unavailable that weekend. Is there anyone who would house some of my frags for the Joplin folks before hand?

So, is Jim going to be holding them at his house? I haven't talked to him in ages, but as I understood the lfs he had was wiped out. Is that why he had to order new tanks? Did he lose them all in the tornado? I never even knew he was selling and Joplin is just so close to me.

I think he'd said something about moving to Indonesia and trying to get into the catching business. Is that still his plan or is he going to stick around and open his lfs back open?
Sorry, for the barrage of questions... I've been wondering about him and lost his number. You guys seem to be in touch.

is there a local club in Joplin- as in do they have a forum ? It would be nice to hear from the people taking stuff in.. and establish contacts with another relatively local group.

in the long run, excess from the frag program could be sent that way as well.

I'd be happy for them to make contact with me and set that up to keep them stocked until they all get re established.

How many reefers from Joplin are involved in this? I just need a head count so I can figure out what I need to get together? Also are they gonna pick these up themselves or is there a person in charge that is handeling the distrobution of the frags ?

Sorry that date doesn't work for you. Sounds like Lynn might be able to help out in holding for you. I can arrange to get your frags from him the day of.

Jim got a few holding tanks and he is holding some frags for some that don't have tanks set up yet, but the ones that do he asking them to meet him that day since he won't have the room. He has been working the past month helping set up tanks for those that lost theirs. He told me he is helping out for no pay at all from anyone. He did loose all his tanks in the tornado and been able to afford putting up a few.

Yes the local club is the Southwest MO Saltwater club. Anyone local is welcome to go with me. I believe Chris had mentioned on going. Are you still able to go Chris?

Lynn, if you are able to house for anyone not being able to me that would be great.

I know of about 15 families but I believe there are many more. And yes there are some that are picking up the frags upon arrival in Joplin. Those that can meet to get their frags in the Joplin area will be getting them from Jim.

Oh sorry I didn't answer all your questions Stephanie. I believe he is staying put. All I know is he will be setting up in his home as he can afford. He just got his A/C hooked up about a month ago so he could finally begin cycling the frags tank.
