Frag donations needed for fellow reefers in Joplin

Transfer of coral went really well yesterday. Jim had only one that meet him when he got back. He said they were very pleased with frags they recieved. Jim was up most of the night getting the other frags into his tanks. Scott donated as well. A big thanks to him and all that donated. Total of bags donated was about 200. Many bags had multible frags in each and others had whole colonies that Jim was able to cut up and make 20 nice size frags from each. All in all propably had close to 400 frags. He has 2 others dropping by for pick up tonight. He will send pictures hopefully in a few days from those picking up and I will post.

I would love to see the new homes these frags go to. It would be lovely if they were on reef central. They could be like our sister club and post on here!

Is there any word on this?

I would have thought someone in Joplin may have written to say something about the stuff you guys sent.

Did ANYONE EVER get a card signed by the 15 + family's/ reefers that lost there tanks in the tornado's?
Did anyone ever here from even one of the people who received or picked up the 5 boxes or corals and clownfish that were donated ? I know I did not and I have talked to quite a few people from that area(and they had not heard about this at all). Just checking as this has been out of site for a while but honestly not out of mind.

Honestly I could care less about the corals I donated, as I honestly lost no money really. I just will say what a lot of others I have talked to this about feel, that it was a sham. Sorry if this is rude but I honestly can not imagine that if my house and tanks were destroyed by a tornado, and another club donated 5 boxes of fish and TONS of corals that I would not at least try to say thanks to someone/anyone about how thankful they were ? I will say that there were a ton of SUPER nice colonies, frags and clownfish in those boxes. So maybe it is just me but is one of those things that makes people not want to do things like this again.
If I am wrong on this I will be the first to say sorry and be the bigger person but I think that it is a little fishy (no pun intended) Scott T

Who cares about a card. Great job by everyone that donated for the right reasons. I've donated many things to many different causes and never heard a word about it. Donating should be about giving not pats on the back. Even if these corals were not given to the right people, kudos to everyone that helped out.

I don't think anyone is looking for pats or Kudos. I think we are all genuinely concerned that the donations went to feed a poor pet store owner and he in turn made a healthy profit off the poor citizens of Joplin. It taints our goodness and makes one not want to donate abroad and keep it all in the club and that is a SHAME!! It has been a full year since the donation and no real contact with any of the end users.

At some point someone who recieved a COMAS coral or fish will find this site and post about it. At least I have some faith. If not, so be it. It was a great effort by our squad that everyone here knows happened. Good leaders in this club stepped up to help out. The livestock was delivered mid September so not quite a year yet.
