The specifics are being handled by Angela for organizing that part of the event and i'll have the full details after our 17th meeting.

I can tell you that was someone from the local Aquarium though.

I really enjoyed the fresh water part... However I must say I was a bit disappointed with the new saltwater addition, but I was really hoping to see a large live coral display. I don't know if it is in the plans to add this or not, but in all fairness my last visit was really close to opening weekend of the new addition.

All in all its worth the money. There is also an IMAX and a Discovery Kids Museum close by if you have kids and want to make a day out of it.

I'll have to do that... Didn't even know they added a SW addition... I heard it was all FW... I'll have to take Ashley down and check out some of the LFS while we're down there...

Art will be giving a presentation on the top reasons not to have a whole whack of salt buckets shipped to your residence. :D

You know, in the year and a half I was down there, I never ONCE made it to the Chattanooga Aquarium, the Atlanta Aquarium or even Ripley's....how sad is that. :(

Next time I head down there, it will be strictly for tourist purposes and visiting the various aquariums...so no worries. Besides, we've got the Shedd here too, which I need to hit again sometime soon.

I went to Ripley's when it first openned... I was rather disappointed... The admission was wicked high, and I've seen pet stores with more variety... The runner going under the sharks and whatnot was pretty cool... I've heard they've improved a bunch since though??? Didn't the Atlanta Aquarium just open recently???

I got a behind the scenes tour of the Tennessee Aquarium when I took a junior class for the day. The freshwater has always been impressive and did like the reef one. It is nice the two buildings are seperate though so you do not have to walk through the same stuff twice. All in all it is worth the time. It is strange to have a freshwater stingray and butterfly exhibit on the top floor though. The most interesting aspect of the reef section is the viewing glass. Instead of a standard straight plane there are cubby holes throughout which will keep children interested.

Yes I will be discussing the fine art of coral swiping from one tank to another using my new patented rubber-lined pockets. More info to come later.

;)

Thom Demas from the TN Aquarium is confirmed for 1:30. His main topics are Seahorses and SeaDragons. He will have a question/answer session afterwards.

I look forward to seeing you all again!

Angela
