Guys, I'll try and put us back on point.
As previously stated a bunch, GREAT Job this year; especially when you consider THIS was a last minute alternative site.
I too wouldn't mind being on the Committee for next year either. I've got a myriad of experience in running Trade shows that could lend itself to this. (I pulled the cat aside from Reef Nutrition (Mr. Reed, right?) and talked to him off-line. I recommended he edit his presentation down to a shorter pitch, more high-level because hey, we’re not Norwegian scientists. That way, he could also do it two of three times a day, because typically the crowd turns over, morning to afternoon. He said he appreciated my comments. I was trying to be helpful. And I bought some of his “bugsâ€Â.)
There are some great ideas above here already, but here’s couple more ideas though:
1) Organize the Committee & Chair early
2) Establish a Project Plan with milestones, deadlines, etc.
a) Rough-out a Financial Plan
b) Delegate to various sub-committees:
3) Marketing / Promotion / Communication Leader
4) Supplier / Sponsor relations Leader
(Message: WHY they should come. Promote WTMRAC membership & Market reach in MEM)
5) Visitors & Guests concierge
6) Venue - Location / Site Leader
a) Venue - Media / Presentation Area
b) Venue â€"œ One Room, w/ one level (wheelchair accessible)
c) Venue - Food Café seating adjacent to Sponsors & Raffle Areas
7) Logistics & Traffic Leader
8) Safety & Regulatory
9) Equipment
10) I.T.
Day of the Show:
1) Hand-held Radios, as needed.
2) Different colored Shirts to denote different responsibilities (“Look for Steve in the red shirt…â€Â)
3) Parking Lot Attendant / Street “Hawker†in a “Fish Suitâ€Â
4) Signage / Banners
I can go on and on……………
Basically, lets have a Six-Sigma(esc) Planning Party and everybody gets a pad of “Sticky notes†and we brainstorm the heck out of this, because it CAN be fun!!
Clearly, Melissa has given her all, and we owe her a high-level of relief for the great job she’s done!
Overall, I thought this was great and we’re getting better! Great job Malissa!
(P.S. â€"œ Kyle, thanks again for the RBTA. It's all good man.)
