I would like to thank everyone for this past weekend. I am new to this site and not yet a member of the club. Nevertheless, I had a great time at the swap and picked up some great peaces.
Thanks for all who help put this togther.

Well, in that case....... Welcome "Sharkbait"!

Glad your part of the Crew.

I can’t believe I had a spelling err in my first post. Sorry.

I wanted to make a point to offer a special thanks to those who donated to my bother’s tank at the swap. He lost everything in his tank (save for one clown) when he lost power after the hurricane (Gustav). By the time he left this weekend I was envious and he was astounded. It was truly magnanimous of those who donated.

BJ while you were giving room service to barrett & DEL on that side of the room i was taking care of JAY & dorise on the other side, they each gave me a $5 tip. what did you get out of DEL & barrett? just kidding,i was just glad to come downstars where all the action was i didnt mind working for free, i know maybe next year we could have a tip jar,

You girls should have a tip jar because I was starving too death but after I saw those pictures of my *** maybe I need to be hungry and stay that way. Im sorry Teena for not thinking to give you a tip. You did need one.

Why is it whenever I make a hint at a cuss word thy blink me out but they let whoever was talking about BJ opening up a can of whoop a-- they didnt blink them out.

cause the filter looks for certain things. a.s.s. is fine as is the way i did it whoopass. but the word by itself is flagged as bad.

I did get a tip from Barrett and it went right in the pot with the other money ...Next time we need to work the crowd a little better and make sure we don't have nearly starving vendors that can'tleave thier stations...I started out to do that this time and kept getting hung up looking at corals (go figure) ..that would have been a great project for Shane's girls ...after all they offered to help and I could not think of anything for them to do at that time...
Now you all need to get off the subject of Doris's "wide side" since I noticed mine looking rather healthy in the pictures too ..they say a camera adds 10 pounds so Bill must have been using about 5 cameras to take those pictures . Is that the way you see it too Doris? lol

I have a TIP for all of us that worked the swap!! ":bounce2: :bounce3: :bounce1:

Lets all work togather and Drum up more volunteers for next year and try to make sure that no one gets hung up where they can not shop!!

And I go back to my disclaimer "It must have been someone else!!!

Here's a tip:
(for next year)

WTMRAC should flip for our ("Contributing") $ponsor's Lunch, seeing as though they're paying to participate. Right? (and don't we buy-down our food costs anyway??

I organized an event with Jackson State one time, and we feed our vendors and other volunteers that helped us set-up. We got a lot of thanks from those folks! The veendors all said that they had never had someone to do that for them. We also helped them too and from there vehicles with stuff for the show.

I like that idea. Good one.

As this seems to be the clubs premier event I think that the club should assume that it will have to provide everything and not count on outside help ( Richard / Andy getting a space provided, Melissa providing the tables and such,....etc.) While it was great to have them ( and probably free) the club should be prepared to acquire those things on their own and plan accordingly. I also think that the tenure of the officers should coincide with the event. In other words change the terms so that those that start it can finish it.

The Six Sigma body of knowledge applied to the frag swap set up make me chuckle out loud. How/what would you run a DOE:D?

We had a great time. The only issue I really had (and not a big one at all) was the table spacing. You had two entrances/exits from 4-5 table locations. We made a small break in the tables at some point and we could pass, but before, we had to walk behind the other vendors. Now I think I squeezed off a few feels on Richard at least once or twice, but you know what I'm saying. No big issues.

I ran the first two in Nashville and can say that you likely will never make the perfect swap. There is always going to be something else that could have gone better for someone, or that would have made things look better/easier. All you can do is try to make it at least as successful as the previous year. This kind of thread to get ideas while they are fresh is a great way to capture info. I thought you all did a great job.
