Frag swap

I have glued ricordia directly to a rock before. Sometimes they get ****ed and move off the glue anyway. I have found that Ross brand super glue works best for any soft corals or zoas.

Leave the ricordia in the sand bed or a bowl of crushed corals in a low flow area of your tank, the base will attach to some sand or crushed corals when it gets acclimated, you wil see the Ricordia opens wide and flat on the sand. When the base has some sand it will be easier to glue to a rock or plug.

Anyone know what this piece was supposed to be?

It was one of the ones with a color photo without a name. Unfortunately, it looks like it is not going to make it. But I did like the teal-green base with green polyps.

Not sure why it is RTN'ing. Did a dip in CoralRX and other SPS doing fine.

Would love another piece in future. Can someone tell me the name of it?

Thanks!

Zero

I had the photos on the top and Sulcata had the photos with the words.

It looks like one I posted in the original frag swap post. If it is I was calling it a Green Acro but not sure. My Buddy is going from a 120 to a 240 so I am baby sitting a bunch of frags for him. That was one of a few I have. Mine are still doing fine and I will bring you another at the next meeting if it is the same one. My buddies is still doing great and he has a bunch as long as they survive the move in a couple weeks.

Let me know if you think it matches and I will get a frag ready for next time not sure why it receded either :(

@giantben
is there difference between clipping it as a frag or just letting it try to recover? I am not expert at fragging, so do not know what I should do.

@kokaneejr
Not sure why it RTN'd. It was in my car for a few hours as I drove back. Overall, probably 3-4 hrs in car because of errands I ran. When I got home, noticed it was already receding. Other frags survived the car ride fine. Hope it recovers. If not, would love a frag to regrow when we meet next.
Thanks!

I don't think that frag can be saved but since it's a common coral I am sure someone in the club have it. You might be able to frag the tip and try to save it but that is still iffy.

Pics of all the stuff I got to take home :D

Tri Color Acro (Jess), Hyacinth (not sure), Red Planet (not sure but you rock :D)

and the Birdsnest behind it because you can never have too much BN and it looks cooler than any of the ones I already have :D

Justin, the acro you got from me is supposed to be green with gold tips. James at caesars said he has never seen anything like it and had a hard time identifying it. Maybe we have the next LE. Haha.

Mike, that coral will develop into a green with orange tips. I have it in my tank but the orange tips have not developed yet. It looks like a green slimmer except for the tips.

Kinda looks gold/yellow with light green/turquoise new growth and the polyps are nice and fat semi transparent olive color. Definitely a keeper, could call it Mike's LE Golden Olive Branch :D

The BN is similar to the purple/green one that I have except it's much thicker and looks like is wants to grow vertically. The one I have is much thinner and cagier and seems to grow out then down.
