Hello this is Ron from Jofish ASC just checking in with you guys about the frag tanks ive set up.Owen was sayin he was gonna bring in a light and no one has gotten back to me about which t5 setup to run in addition to owens light.In fact ive heard nothing from anyone in your club for awhile.We have been consistently getting a fish and coral shipment every week as well.

I think it might be a good idea to list your new stuff (corals and fishes) here on a weekly basis so we know when they come in. I didn't hear anything about new stuff coming in so I didn't make a point to stop by. I am still under the impression that your frag tanks are still cycling.

Thanks for posting. I will be by this week as I finally have a few extra $ and need a small Tang and to see if you have a Starry Blenny. I also need some hermits.
I am letting the experts deal with the frag tank as I am still a newbie.
When is your fish shipment day Thurs or Fri I think?

I have the reflector and bulb at my house in Windsor but I am never that far south. Just need to get it down there. Maye I can give it to Shane at the next meeting.

I went snorkeling in Hanauma Bay today and WOW! I never knew some of those tangs could get so big! I saw some Orange Shoulders (one of my favorites) that were HUGE! I saw a Naso unicornis or brevowhateverus that was a monster. Man am I needing a larger tank. Ron says he has a 300 and I will be checking that out when I get back.

Owen, I may be up in Santa Rosa this weekend and could possibly pick up that reflector and bulb and get them to Ron. You going to be around then?
Ron, how many bulbs in that T5 fixture? If there are four, I would recommend 2 blue (ATI Blue plus or Giesemann Actinic plus), one purple (any pure actinic), and one 10,000K / Daylight plus. Four blue bulbs would maximize color pop but the tank would look super blue. At least one 6500-10,000K bulb helps reduce the blue look. The actinic is good for the zooxanthellae in the corals and the corals benefit from the availability of additional photosynthate.

The combo you listed is very good but they don't carry those brands at Jofish. For the purple bulb, the fiji purple is the best, it brings out red corals like no other bulb can.

I can get it from Owen; I'll be making a trip to Lowes and other stores to get stuff to make my canopy this weekend. I can drop it off at the store this weekend or before.
Rob- Are you on a work trip too? Your job sounds pretty cool! Where can I get a job that sends me to places where I can go diving and get paid really good with lots of time off?....accepting applications?

Only way a business can do any promotion on RC is by buying a sponsorship and then all promotions have to be in their sponsor forum.Great idea though, I've seen it work rather well for a few stores.
