To give you some background I have been through alot with this species and have fell in love with them. I have had multiple attempts mostly without success. I have finally worked up the courage to cut it and see what will happen. I have cut multiple bta with 100 percent success rate.

So here it goes, please enjoy the photos.

^^Finally in the bucket

So there you guys go...... I left them in the bucket for a few minutes and they were already footing on the bottom of the bucket a great sign.

I would end up moving them from that bucket to another. They tend to release a bunch of chemical into the water when stressed. So fill another bucket full of the same tank water u used.... match the temp, and move move, move.

You could chance it though

Well I cant give away my secret can I ;)

I am suprised at how good they look post chop. Please keep this updated..good, bad or ugly. I'd never have the stones to do it but the subject interests me

Great to hear that they already started to attach there foot after cutting them. But please keep us up on how their doing.

Any pictures after they were reintroduced into the tank?

The anemones are in a friends tank, Serpentman. Big thanks to him for keeping them, I really appreciate.

They are doing great I will se what we can do for pictures.

Lets see some pics of how they look today.

Here's my question - if you had "multiple attempts, mostly w/o success", why would you try cutting them before mastering how to keep them?

Anywho, I wish you luck. I believe certain strains of anemone are hardier than others. If that is due to genetic differance, then I'm all for trying to propogate those traits for the hobby.

Hey guys, I'll post some pics for AD87 tomorrow. Both halves are completely footed and appear to be healing nicely.
