New Magnifica/Riterri Anemone

I left them alone for the last 2 years or so, but I couldn't resist this one with a bold red base... I've always loved this color on Magnifica anemones.

I'll be keeping it in my frag tank attached to my display until it's nearly twice this size - I have a pair of adult clowns that haven't given a BTA even a second look since my last Riterri, but I want to make sure this one is big enough to put up with both of them. Wish me luck!

Congrats, looks healthy. Red footed ritteri (IMO) with yellow tentacles are one of the most beautiful in the trade. Usually outta Sumatra or Africa I believe.

Give it some time to recover and it may color up.

It's hard to photograph right now because it's very subtle, but I can already see signs of yellow developing in most tentacles under the actinic lighting! I've had it for a week and it's definitely improving in color and shape.

I couldn't agree more, this has always been one of the most beautiful colors IMO which is why I had to break from my sabbatical. I'll be removing SPS and rearranging rocks to make it work but I think it'll be worth it.

And unfortunately it was the only Riterri they received in the latest shipment. The LFS seems to get one in at a time every few weeks lately, but the last few weren't as exciting.

We are in the process of moving and building or trying to build but when ever we can get our new house built I'm going to set up a tank for a Ritteri and clowns, 30" cube. I have always wanted one with the red or magenta foot. Never seen one at any of our two LFS but when the tank is up I'd drive a long way to get a healthy one like your's!
