***Fragged my Heteractis Magnifica***

Yes it is a purple base the photos dont really show the true color. look at the first page. The tips are white slight yellow.

Ahh...okay. I awas a little worried about the tip color. When I first got mine, its tips were a dirty yellow. Once it acclimated, the tips brightened up to a bright yellow.

However, I can see that yours is a different shade of yellow naturally, so its a not an acclimation/stress thing.

Looking good!

Nick

Yeah then nems are not as vibrant as they should be, they werent under alot of light.

Thanks im working on getting some new colored ones.

not purple based

not purple based

my magnifica has like a bluish grey boring coloured base....not vibrant
but sort of like a grey dull colour....

Will that base colour up into a purple base in time with light or am I stuck
with that coloured base on the animal?????

I dont care really because it is a very healthy gorgeous anenome.......
but....I really like the bright purpled based ones......

Tim

That's a pretty good job man. at least they're alive and healthy. i wouldn't try that with my RBT. When they split up then they split up and i just feed them so they don't get too stressed out. Plus when you feed them weekly they will eventually split up.

I have cut a bta into 4 ways before. It will work.

I really depends some times they will color up. Tim did you nem move yet?

New colored nems. I have a 90 gallon mag dedicated tank that I just added fish to. Jeef (Serpentman) helped me scape it, actually he did all the work. Its really cool different and I planned the mag around the scape not the other way around. My goal is to have at least 4-6 mags in the tank. I will try to get pictures the issue is I dont have a camera anymore.

Just to give everyone a heads up Im going to be cutting one of the nems again. I going to be banking one of the anemones with my friend Jeff. Just in case I loose all of my mags in the future. I will bug him for some more pics.

I moved one of the daughter nems into the new cube. Got a good look at it. It looks like it healed in a spiral pattern. I'll try and get some pics.

nem did not move

nem did not move

Nope my magnifica anenome did not move...it stayed right on it's island rock I set up for it with major flow that it loves and major light that it loves.....along with two onyx living in it...I am in heaven that it stayed put.

Tim

Did you just cut it through the mouth so each half had a piece of the mouth or were there two mouths already formed that you cut apart on it? I'v never heard of doing it with a pair of scissors before. Glad it worked out for you.

this thread actually meant a lot when my Mag decided to try and get through mess down the overflow. As it could not get itself out and I could not get it out, I cut is in 2.. both are now4 months later and doing well. Had some serious issues with thermostat dyeing, calc reactor broke and I had to move the tank in a house move and these babies are just totally shock proof.

One of the daughter nems didn't make it. However, it was all healed and died when I moved it to a different system. In hindsight, it was probably a dumb move on my part as the system was less robust than my main.

The other is alive and well and the size of the original.

Thanks Jeff for stepping in, I have been so busy lately. I plan to cut the nem soon and will again document my progress.

Jeff on a side note give me a call buddy :).
