Fragging an Anemone

I have a huge Anemone that is starting to consume my 90 gallon reef tank. I cannot believe this thing hasnt split. Anyways, my friend wants to frag it into 2 or 4 pieces. I can not believe the anemone could live after this. Although big, it is the prize of my tank. I have watched this thing almost triple in size since I got it and cant stand the thought of harming it. Coul it really survive being cut up?

What type of anemone is it? Some handle fragging better than others.
If you decide to cut the anemone, I would not do any more than 2 pieces.

When I ordered it, I ordered a bubble tip.........my friend thinks its a long tentacle anemone. Only once have I seen what appeared to be bulbs on the arms. So I guess I really am not 100% percent sure which one it is.

is it on rocks, or in the sand? btas stay on the rocks, ltas in the sand.

Have you tried over feeding it? could help it along in the split.

My bta was enourmous before it finally split. way bigger than a dinner plate. It ended up splitting 3 ways it was so big.

I kept one, and its already huge agian lol

man i need.. ok.. want a bigger tank

If it had bubble tips at one time it is prob a bubble tip. They get long tentacles most of the time when they are placed in aquariums.

I have the same issue with my LTA and sebae in my 90.
My LFS was hounding me to split them because he wanted the frags, but I just can't bring myself to do that.
I've had them too long and they are the pride of my tank, so I bit the bullet and bought a 180 for them.

He is in the sand but so big he covers half the tank and half my live rock. Ill prbably end up getting a bigger too.
