fragging fla ricordias

I have a small rock that is just covered with pink and green florida ricordias. I'd like to remove at least half of them so the others can expand properly. What's the best way to do this without killing them? The rock is about the size of a small fist and has at the least 10 ricordias on it.

use a small chissel or ex-acto knife and try to cut a small piece of LR off with them. LR is very soft so it should be no problem, the trick is getting the little sliver of rock off with the ric.

Thank you!! The knife did not work so I took a small screwdriver and hammer and carefully chopped the rock in several pieces. I now have one larger rock with 3 - 4 rics on it and 4 small rocks with one to two rics on them.

One of the ricordias tore as the rock broke. I know several of these had more than one mouth and I have heard that as long as the mouth is still present, the rest of the ric will revive. I've put those pieces in the qt tank and will keep a close eye on them
