fragging mushrooms?

I am no expert on these "jawbreaker" mushrooms but IME mushrooms are virtually INDESTRUCTIBLE. That's how the blender method was founded. Look at the possibilities:

$300 x a million pieces = $300 million! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

He's got the right idea.

They are totipotent, which means that one cell can regrow the individual. I am not joking. As many pieces as you cut, that's how many you'll get. I don't believe that having a piece of the mouth affects growth whatsoever. I watch mushrooms walk and leave parts of their feet behind (type of reproduction called pedal laceration) which become full and distinct polyps with a mouth, within the week.

If you really want to frag it cut it in half, and rubberband one half to some rubble. This guarantees at least one mushroom.

Take the other half and pulse it once or twice in the blender.....

If nothing else, you are back to having one mushroom, right?

i am seriously considering the blender method but wont the little pieces get into the filters? should i use a little container inside my tank to hold the blended pieces? any suggestions or experience blending mushrooms?

wherever they land and the current keeps them there, will attach and grow :) let nature run it's course, of course, you will lose some due to filters, but so be it

put in a cup with LR rubble and cover with bridal vail/rubber band. You can get bridal vail from walmart or a fabric store. Check out youtube... too easy

all kidding aside just use a razor blade and cut the shroom up into a bunch of pieces. Dont use the blender ;)

Get a small tupperware or plastic cup, poke a bunch of holes or slits in it. Put rubble rock or coarse ARM media in the bottom of the cup. Place all the pieces in the cup. Over time they will grow and attach themselves. You can then glue the rock or ARM media to a disk or in your display somewhere.

I can just imagine you trying to use the blender and mushroom gunk is all over, in the blades, etc. which will do you no good.

However, that would be awesome if you you tubed blending it and posted it for all of us. That would be one funny video.

i would be careful with this mushroom. some mushrooms that look like ricordia dont like being cut. if you got this mushroom sell for such a high price that means that cutting or blending method doesnt work.

mushrooms spread fast and just thinking of the selling price, it might not be that easy to cut or blend. the best method i've done was cut the head off the stalk. so you will have a full mushroom and the stem that was left grows another head.

i've done the cut in half and cut in 4s like a pizza. you just need to get a piece of the mouth. but then again, i wouldnt do that in a mushroom that's so expensive. lol

good luck and gimme a piece. lol jk. :)
