Frankie's 120 gal. reef.

Here are a few top down shots. I made a box out of acrylic scraps. It works great.

I have been working on the cabinet also. I took out the Tambor doors to the canopy and installed a up swing door. I don't like hinges so i made a stainless steel pin for both ends. It works great. Smooth and strong. I will be replacing the hinges on the lower doors with this also. I am getting all the finish done also and replaced a few slabs of wood.

I don't know yet. I built it for a 300 I want to get. I still need a pump to run it on. I will be building one for this tank soon. I am not sure how though. Either i will copy a bubble king or build another Beckett for a smaller system like this one. I want to finish the wood work on this tank first though.

The Cabinet is coming out nice. I installed a draw today. took me about one hour to make. I also got the wood back up and am working my way around the wood work.

Is there a in line duck fan back there? I love the lighting set up best one i have seen so far. I want to try something like this for my 65. What are the benefits for having a coast to coast overflow system?

Yes, i have a DUCT coming off of the chiller, up and over the cabinet. No separate fan. The chiller has it's own. This keeps heat from building up behind the system. If i wasn't renting this house i would have vented it up through the ceiling into the attic.
A coast to coast overflow skims the entire surface area quickly. no dead spots. It also helps turn more water through the filtration. Kinda like a water fall across the whole back of the tank.
Thanks for the comment on the lighting. I will be making it adjustable in the near future so it can be lowered. Right now it sits 15" over the water. I would like to have the ability to get it closer. Though my corals and clams seem to be doing just fine under it as it is now.

Time for an update. I rescaped the tank this week. My tangs are running out of cruising room so i removed over 100lbs of rock. Its all in the refugium now. This tank is getting close to it's end with tangs. I am setting my eyes on going bigger again. I'll give this one to my daughter maybe. Here is the new scaping.

What!? You don't think your Atlantic Blue can grow up in a 120!?

Can't wait to see the "bigger" version!
