Ah, and yes, just consulted my notes. This is the protocol I created and followed for my QT procedure. The brook/uronema showed up during the second round of prazipro if I'm not mistaken.

Marine Fish Quarantine Procedure:

Day 1: put fish in 35g.
Days 2–8: 1 week of Prazipro and Metronidazole.
Days 9-21: Tank Transfer.
Day 9: add fish to 10g #1.
Day 12: in morning transfer fish to 10g #2 and sterilize 10g #1.
Day 15: in morning transfer fish to 10g #1 and sterilize 10g #2.
Day 18: in morning transfer fish to 10g #2 and sterilize 10g #1.
Day 21: in morning transfer fish back to 35g and sterilize 10g #2.
Days 22-28: 1 more week of Prazipro.
Days 29-35: 1 more week of Metronidazole.
Days 36-56: observation.
Day 57: start adding to DT.

You should have noticed head twitching, rubbing (targeting the gills).

Haven't seen any of that in either fish.

You're probably good then. :thumbsup: It's just a matter now of observing, to ensure these fish don't develop visible symptoms of brook/uronema.

If I may suggest one tweak to your QT protocol, you only want a 5-7 day gap between your first and second round of Prazipro treatment. Prazi only remains active in the water for 72 hrs max, and while it does eradicate flukes in that time frame... it doesn't do anything to any eggs that might have been laid. So, timing it so that you hit the fish with a second dose 5-7 days after the first ensures you get the "next generation" of flukes before they are mature enough to lay eggs of their own.

I noticed there was about a 14 day gap between your first and second treatment. You also want to do a 20-25% WC before administering the second dose.

Interesting. Yes I will make that adjustment. Thanks! So will plan to move the fish to the 35g on Wednesday. If they're still looking good when I get back to town is guess they're clean at that point yes? That would be 12 days from now.

Probably - but 1 solid month of observation would be better IMHO. The problem with Brook & Uronema isn't it hasn't been as well studied as, say, ich; so it's difficult to know exactly how it's life cycle works and be sure the info out there about it is completely accurate.

Moved the gramma & goby up to the 35g QT. Still looking clean and healthy. Just got in a small shipment of macro algae and will drop some of it in there with them. Should aid in case of any small swell in ammonia that could occur in case my friend over feeds while we're gone (which I'm sure he won't). Also may provide some copepod snacks for them. Will do a few more water changes before we leave as well just to make sure that water is pristine. Will report back when we return from holiday on October 18!

Got back from vacation last night. Fish look good - clean, alert and eating well. I think I'm finally out of the woods!

Just moved the gramma and goby to the DT and they are looking good!

So now... I just received a new batch of fish from Blue Zoo a few days ago. A mix of fish for the 75g and the 330g FOWLR I'm setting up: three dispar anthias, goatfish and midas blenny for 330g, tail spot blenny and chalk bass for 75g. And a flasher wrasse, which was DOA. First few days, everything fine. The midas blenny looked a little dark and was breathing hard the second day, but he perked up and all were eating mysis shrimp by day two. Just yesterday I began tank transfer... Moved all the fish to a second 10g. This morning the midas blenny and the goatfish both breathing hard and not eating. Blenny is lying on his side, dark and not looking good. All other fish ok. I did a 50% water change. I checked for high amounts of stray voltage and it wasn't too bad. What should I do at this point? Based on my experience, I'd say that blenny will be dead by tomorrow. He just doesn't look like a fish that's gonna come back from whatever's wrong with him.

But I don't want to give up on him and I want to stay positive (I was riding high after getting the gramma and goby into the DT, clean and healthy). Any suggestions? Could it be that I should stop ordering from Blue Zoo?

I should add that my QT set up for TT is two 10g tanks, each with a MaxiJet powerhead and 50 watt heater. Temp is around 80. SG is 1.020.
