freddy kreugers vs darth mauls

I'm with you rich850. Without a name, we have no idea which polyp you are talking about..
when we talk about names, they will just think of money, not "normal" discussing.
People told me not to buy cherry charm as they are just pink and gold with high price tag. I bought both and they are from two different world. Can we just talk about them fairly without the $$$ in mind?
Talk $$$ with vendor not in a discussion like this. The original poster will really appreciate this.... He was asking if anyone has them both not asking price different...

Exactly the price difference was just a minor detail. The question really is if anyone has both of them and can tell the difference. I have to admit I am slightly shade blind and miss a few details sometimes. Sometime back someone had to point out the difference between blue hornets and purple hornets to me. I really couldnt tell. Thanks Jacky, Organism , and if I am sure I missed a couple who attempted to keep this thread on track.

Zoas color morphs are not consistent, if you get a flame angel, you can be pretty sure how its going to look. you get a polyp of darth mauls, they will look different from tank to tank under different lighting and conditions, their colors arent consistent. under the right conditions they might morph into a form of "armor of gods" or something like that. its all just made up names to get more money.

I have never seen darth mauls morph into armor of gods. The chances of that are like a purple monster morphing into a purple stag. I'm blind but not.....

Doesn't that answer your question? He called them something else to trick people into paying double for them. And it worked. That shop is one of the worst things to ever happen to the hobby, just a guy chop-shopping with dismal survival rates.

I have heard of people having bad survival rates but the few times I ordered I lost 1 out of 8-10 each time. I have found some nice polyps on eBay from him for 5 dollars on thoes auctions, and saw the colored up versions of the same 5 dollar zoa go for 100. Some people are stupid sometimes and people get taken advantage of often. I got some of my favorite acros as $10 frags. In the long run 2 out of 5 made it.
All they are is a chop shop right? They don't do anything but buy wild colonies and cut a ton of 1" frags from what I know.

It was an example... calm down, no one is calling you blind or stupid.

My point is that from tank to tank, polyps will change colors. keeping track of them is very tough. go look through that coralpedia site and browse the variations of different names and how much they can vary.

blind

blind

I am a little blind lol but that's the reason for this post I have been through coralpedia so much i feel like a junkie every time I go back... I have seen a ton of variations I was hoping someone had these two named corals I really think they are the same I will try to get good pictures soon

CP in it self is also flawed as if you browse through the whole list, you will see the same freaking polyp with named various different names, one under day light, one under heavy attinics, one a morph of the same polyp, or even just plain same polyp. Its up to the individual to do proper research, check around. Has said polyp been around the hobby for a bit and is it just being named under another catchy name with glamour shots to increase the asking price. or is it truely a NEW piece.

If you feel they look the same, then 90% sure they are the same polyp, dont get too worked up or worried over names, buy corals for color, not because they are limited edition and 500$. If they are super rare and some crazy color, chances are they will look different in your tank.

Many times vendors will photoshop the heck out of their pictures too, so take it for what its worth, relax, enjoy your tank, and try not to take all these names too seriously.

So true, this guy is just bad for the hobby all around.

I definitely am not going to take it too seriously I just wondered if anyone had the same polyps as all but I have a new prescription of glasses coming in about a week and a half maybe I can tell better then I stick mostly to the sps anyway and I am planning on clearing some zoas out to make room for more acros!
