Free glass tank build

I wouldn't do a center brace just a 3 inches euro top at 3/8 and bottom at 1/4 or 3/8

Here is a tank I made and set up today

When I do the bottom bracing, do I seal the panels first and then simply set my braces ontop of my cured silicone?or does the brace go down first and then assemble the panels?

That video helps a lot. Im wondering if the corner outside supports he adds are they the triangle glass things? Im wanting to add support for my corners either externally for potential bumping into, or internally for pressure support.

Anyways I cleaned my 4 panels today and taped then to get an idea of the size and quality of glass together. The glass is actually 10mm thick not 1/2". The size is 39 3/16" x 40" and its 19.25 high @ 10mm thickness. Please see chips in glass and let me know if it seems ok, most chips I can arrange at the top and should be above water level.

Last of the pictures. Most problems are at the top, maybe euro brace will take care of the issues? Do any of the cracks lead you to say dont build or do they appear to be non tempered? Thanks

In all honesty the attached pic is the most concerning and C. You will need to make sure you have really good bond of silicon and make sure that it squishes out the the outside when you set it and then trim with a razor blade. Use the chips to the top and preferably the back. And yes do 3/8 euro and make sure there is good contact with tank to brace silicon. I would not use the piece in the picture I attached that one is very scary. Tempered glass has about a 1/4 inch of play before it blows and by the looks of it it seems that about a almost a 1/4 is gone from the corner. I would get a new piece for that side and use it in the front. I'm sure you would rather see a nice unchipped piece.

I havent yet. Been trying to find my sun glasses. Kids ran off with them.

So C is usable? But the one you pictured is not? That small amount at the top would cause an issue...dang

Its really up to you. I would reinforce that piece and use it in the back

I would put 2 inch strips of 1/4 glass on the inside of the seam where that piece will go if your set on using it

Hey man,

So update. I have glass ordered for my bottom and front. Also top bracing. Im attaching a few photos of my biggest problem areas which can be fixed by order one more side panel that would be about 80$. Also, I found out all the glass is non tempered so I sanded the main side panel to try to fix it. However it has a small gap between it and the other glass it will attach to.

This photo is the least viewable part of the tank. The back panel was sanded to fix the crack it had. This will be #1. If its a problem.

#2. This and #3 is the same piece of glass. The one I mentioned. It is the only questionable piece remaining. It is a side panel. This is it with the gaps at the top of the tank, both where it silcones with the back and front have a slight gap where I sanded it down. Will silicone injected into those gaps as well as the support of the euro be enough to use this piece? The gap is about big enough to get a needle through. The rest of the glass comes in contact perfectly just the gaps.

#3 this is the same side panel as #2 except I put the gaps at the bottom instead of the top. To me the last setup is better than this one, but maybe the glass just needs to be trashed and I pay the 80$ to replace it. Whatcha think?
