Freshwater dip for flatworms?

I have a very nice Elegance Coral that is infested with flatworms. A green Coris Wrasse took care of them everywhere else, but won't touch them on the Elegance. I really don't like the idea of chemical treatments.

Can I safely use a FW dip without killing the coral? My understanding is that it takes just 10 - 15 seconds for the flatworms to lose their grip. Is that true?

Any help is much appreciated!!!

Not sure on FW dip, but would try a dip in some FW Exit or the likes. If there are eggs, multiple dips every 6 days should disrupt their cycle. GL

I've given an elegance coral a freshwater dip before. No problem. It seemed like all the flatworms fell off as soon as the coral hit the fresh water. I just held a small container full of freshwater up to the rim of the tank. Within 10 seconds, the coral was already back in the DT. Piece of cake. GL.

That was my plan. I was told by my LFS that it would be ok I was just looking for some outside verification. I'll let you know how it goes.

If your system is mature enough, maybe you can get a spotted mandarin. A buddy of mine got one to take care of his flatworm problem and his little spotted mandarin gobbled them all up then was also trained to take frozen during the course of the flatworm clean up.

I have done this many times with many types of corals. There shouldn't be any problem. One thing I haven't seen mentioned is to make sure the water is the same temp
