Friendly marine life?

Today while on a collecting trip, this friendly blue ring of the many we see, wanted to shack on it.
What we were shaking on I have no idea?
A courteous ocy maybe,that's nice,lol.

Yep.
But I realise it was only touch testing me; the shake hands aspect was just for a laugh.
I mean you don't want some thing that can cause some paralysis and shut down your respiratory system so easily shanking your hand?lol.
A friend had one as a pet for years and he use to let it crawl over his hand, no way!

We knew a couple many years ago that collected them commercially as with other venomous sea creatures and the husband was bitten and only just got a cry out for help as he went down to his wife and she applied ear-cpr for around two hours till he could breath on his own.
They were on one of our Moreton bay islands in bad weather, so near no one was around, just die hard sea lovers or ocean workers and no mobile phones back then.
We went past in a boat not long before that and waved as you do with fellow collectors.
We herd what had happened at the boat ramp, his story was quite scary as to how he felt during all that.
Lucky his wife had good lungs.
Nasty little critters if things go wrong.

I work as a medic, and not doubting that he was stung, but had he actually required CPR( pulseless/apneic) for a period of a couple hours, he would've been long gone dude. Unless they externally paced him on board with electrodes, but even then- a couple hours? He likely was conscious and in shock. Glad to hear he made it though.
