Frightened Fish - How to feed

Hey Guys,

I need some help. I got a new mag foxface and the guy is terrified of me. Anytime I go near the tank he hides and camouflages himself against the rock work. My problem is that I don't know how to feed him. Right now he is eating a little of of hair algae that I have but once that's gone I'm not sure what to do. I have tried clipping some nori for him to munch on but he doesn't. Maybe he will once the hair algae is gone but who knows. I have tried target feeding but the guy doesn't budge when he's scared.

Any feeding tips?

Give him some time. Is he in quarantine? If so, put some food in and move away from the tank. It might take awhile for him to associate you with food.

Yea... it may just take some time. I just want to make sure he doesn't starve and get sick.

I have the same problem but no qt. Been almost a month.

Try often with small feedings. Sounds like hes just getting use to his surroundings. If he's eating some hair algae you have a bit before you should be worried of him starving.

Sometimes they react this way if in too small a tank.
