Fritz's split-level cave tank build

tank is now full of FW! passed the leak test with flying colors. the flow is unbelievable. I'll need to post a video. the flow from the CL by itself seemed really unimpressive at first, but combined with the return it's perfect.

I am really impressed with the return pump which is a custom sealife that does 1100 gph. it is like half the size of the iwaki and completely silent, you can't even tell it's on. it seems to get really hot, though.

Dude i run a a 200 dd with a 75 sump in the basement stocked to the tilt. and your thread has me interested. Its unique so of coure we care. lol

well, sorry. I never got that video uploaded but it doesn't matter now. I'll have to shoot another one now that I've got saltwater in it! I am excited. Thanks to all who have followed the thread so far! :) LEDs really are hard to take pictures of.

Truth! The tank looks awesome though. The lighting definitely adds a sense of drama with the varying intensities instead of just being whitewashed from edge to edge.

That is just as cool as the reef tank! Unfortunately I have to report that none of the plants I kept are alive today, thanks to neglect on my part. Things were just too crazy this summer. Glad to see yours going strong.

Thank you guys! Nate, I can definitely restock you with plants if needed. :) Not the FW plants though, I sold my tank.

Yeah, some day I will resurrect it for sure. I am leaving the hardscape as-is because I liked it so much, I'll just pull it out and replant it.

BTW I think you need to update your signature!
