Frogspawn Question...

Added a nice Frogspawn to this weekend. After acclimation, etc, and adding to tank it opened up to about 1/2 size. At night it withdrew, and upon the lights coming on the next day opened fully. However about 3 hours before lights out... It withdrew to about 1/4 size.

Is this normal behavior? Water parameters good, lights are on about 10 hours per day, medium flow.

They do that. Mine will start to close when my main lights go off and actinics are on. When the lights all come back on in the morning it will come back out. We have another large frogspawn thats about 8" across when opened and it pulls in to about 4" at night. Out Torch and hammers also do that...

Phyxius... I noticed you have a 90g also. I'm in the process of putting one together.

Does the 30 sump/fuge meet your needs, or would you do something different, if setting up again?

No it works out really good for the stand size. I keep all my other items like reactors, topoff and etc in another cabinet so the space the tank used up was ok.
Here is a pic of it when I first got it all transfered into the 90 after upgrading tanks and put it into use. I have kept it the same since then Skimmer fits fine as well as the pumps and fuge area is good sized.

How long before it "settles in" and opens fully on a daily basis?

Again, it was only introduced to the tank on Saturday. When I come home in the evenings one side will be extended maybe 20% and the other side just the tips are exposed.
