I have the base of one branch in the sand which broke off when I was moving it a while back (a poor, but successful fragging job), and this has branched into two. The other branches stem from one base which is lodged in a hole in the live rock. I refuse to put them higher in the tank, as I had a hermit knock the single piece into a scroll coral, and I now have a nice brown spot in the middle of that coral which is slowly growing back. I've found that they do well here as there is intermittent flow from the wavemaker, and it also appears to be where the excess food (ova, coral frenzy) end up when I do dose.
