Frogspawn Trapped in its own Skeleton

I recently acquired a frag of Frogspawn which looks like it had been brought to the brink of death and then somehow managed to survive. The polyps look like they're coming from deep inside the larger, dead skeleton.

It extends decently enough but I do not see the mouth or the real skeleton because they seem to be deep inside the older skeleton.

Has anyone ever had a Euphylia like this and will it somehow be able to bust out of the dead skeleton? Is there anything I should do to help it out or just give it time?

I think you will just have to give it time, meanwhile be sure to keep your parameters in line and hope for the best.
Good Luck!

It may bloom upward, and grow a new skeleton atop the old, by my understanding.

I'm doing the same with some tiny blasto merletti pieces I salvaged. They were receded deep within the skeleton, but are now starting to come back pretty well. No new skeleton growth yet, but the polyp is doing nicely so far.
