Frogspawn

both the frogspawn and torch on the top of the tank started as 10 heads. and over a 1 1/2 period all i ever did was blast over them with brine shrimp every week. there are 30+ heads on each one the tank is 3'x3'x3'.

as a matter of fact i did this to all my lps corals and got amazing growth out of them

The above statement is false.
This Frog is near 3 years old. The only dosing I do has been in the last year and the only dosing is Mydor. All tanks are different so be careful about blanket statements attempting to tell you what you MUST or NEED to do in this hobby.

All tanks are different, and because of this, general care of LPS is what Sk8R gave, and correctly so. That doesn't mean someone cant keep one alive and growing with improper care. His statement is absolutely correct.

Amen brother. Also, over the years I have noticed a coorelaion between large post counts and extreem (I think "bad" is too strong of a word) advice. I think a person who has 10,000 plus posts, by nature, has an extreem personality and would be inclined to give advice that may be true but is not practical.

Large post counts are an indication of someone who has done more than just come to this venue to offer dribble and criticism. It shows a commitment to helping people in this hobby and is anything but an extreme personality. True but not practical? Really? It is certainly practical to provide any stony coral with the requirements of health and growth. Proper husbandry is important for any creature in our care, that is just a reality. If you object to people who come here to offer help and sound advice then I really feel sorry for you. I suppose you think it would be better for people to reach a certain post count and resign? After all we really don't want someone who has been here for years and has loads of experience to be one of the people who answers questions and takes some of the myths out of this hobby. Who would want that?

Frogspawns are easy corals to keep and can grow to spectacular sizes. Mine is around 6 years old and is the center piece of my reef tank. I love it!

its easy to care for, starter coral for sure. I started with 3 heads of frogspawn and 7 heads of branching hammer and 1 anenome

Beautiful frogspawn centerpiece tanks!

Just wanted to report that I made a boo-boo with my frogspawn last night. I was dusting off some rocks with my turkey baster and accidently sucked up a small branch of my frogspawn. It's still looking good today. I did this before a few months back and luckily nothing bad happened in terms of infections or necrosis. Last time I had a powerhead incident and destroyed 1/4 of a head (can't tell today though). Quite hardy despite my occasional mistakes.

ohhh man, i know how that feels. for some reason anytime anything bad happens in my tank, it always happens to my frogspawn or hammer. Once i dropped some tweezers and they bounced off 2 different rocks and shot straight into my frogspawn literally like 2 feet away from where i was working. cut off some of the flesh, but within a few days it was looking good as new. another time, a large chunk of salt creep fell directly on my hammer's mouth and it was shriveled and sliming the rest of the day. Again, a few days later it was good as new. I would have to say frogspawn/hammers are pretty resilient corals, but make sure you buy one that is poofy and expanded.
