From bio wheel to sump

waterpolo

In Memoriam
I set my in-sump (Tidepool II) about a month ago. I left my penguin 350 biowheel hanging on the back of my tank just so I could get my sump biologically mature. Is it safe now for my biowheel to be removed without it disrupting the biological balance? Should I take off one biowheel at a time over a short span? I would like to move my prizm dlx to this side of the tank to spread out the equipment. Thanks.

Test your tank for ammonia and nitrate, and if they're at 0, then you can remove your bio wheel. Make to test again in a couple days, those results will tell you if you still need your bio wheel.

You will be fine witha months time, A bio wheel by itself wont hurt anything. If you were to remove the tidepool sponge asembly then you will have problems.

I would take off one bio wheel at a time, next one a week later.
I avoid sudden changes in tank.
Probably not a real big deal at one month, but let's begin good habit's now.
