Frustrating Fish,Noob Picture Taker--Advice needed

NEW off ebay for $260.

You really can't beat that considering what a nice little lens it is. Shots look great. See if you can shorten your SS to reduce some of the motion. Do you happen to know the EXIF data? I am at work and do not have an EXIF reader here.

Well I took some pictures on my days off (tue and wed), left my camera at home so I cant upload them....lol

6% keep rate, not bad! ;). I typically only keep about 25% of my shots, but before, I was a lot more ruthless with my deleting.

I can't view the files here at work but will check them out later.

I forgot to comment yesterday and say that I finally saw your pics! They are all nice but this one above is a stand out for me. Great work. Please keep sharing with us.
Thanks rickztahone,,
I forget what I had the camera set on, but I let it auto focus then tweaked it manually. .
That side of the tank is lit with a black box led,, other side (GSP) is lit with a 175w MH 20k plusrite..
Thinking of ordering a newer fixture to cover the entire tank...

Have you ever used those slave flashes that screw in a light socket? ?? How do they work??

I have never heard of that actually. Do you have a link of what you are referring to? I have a few slave flashes I trigger wirelessly, but haven't heard anything like you are describing

That's kind of cool. Here's where you will run in to problems most time with these type of lights, they simply do not offer a lot more light than ambient, especially in an aquarium setting. HOWEVER, I think it would be better than nothing but shooting RAW is going to be a must in ordre to fix the horrible white balance it will create. Fix in post and you should be fine. I'd get a couple, or even 3 just to be on the safe side.

I have a frame on top of the 40 Breeder made out of the 80/20 stuff, so I could mount them with a clamp and fire them under the halide reflectors bouncing the flash down..
Mine has the big gullwing reflectors so I have plenty of room..
May have to order 4 this payday to play with..If they dont work I can use the mounts for a flash..
Now if I can get this macbook sold,,I can get my big PC going again to start editing these pics..
