Frustrating...

I go away for a week to Las Vegas and I left instructions for someone to watch my fish. I came back to no protein skimmer, 4 corals destroyed and my Sebea Anenome almost see through Thankfully all of the water parameters are good.....


My wife said the Anenome ate 2 times this week but was bouncing around allot.. He is really bleached and his mouth is gaping. I came home and tried to feed him some silverside but he just spit it out. I suspect that my MH bulbs aren't giving me the light I need because I have no idea how old they are and



I need some sleep and detox LOL, if this post lacked direction blame it on gambling and drinking for 6 days


Anyone know where I can buy some 175W MH bulbs on a Sunday without getting ripped?

No guarantee, but I wouldn't hesitate to try him on a Sunday, just wait till late morning.

I dont think a reduction in light could be the cause of the problem in the 1 week you were away. What happened to the protein Skimmer? What do you mean by 4 corals destroyed?

Ok well I picked up MH from Don at AH and they were reasonable @$52 so I was happy. I also picked up some target food for the anenome and he seemed to take it. We think we found out what happened. The anenome went nutso and bounced around the tank. He must have stung the bubble coral over and over because he just wont come out. he also broke an SPS frag right in half and stung the candy canes as well.


The skimmer thankfully was an easy one. The air tube collapsed, no air, no bubbles.... Since I had the tank open I did a 10% water change and Installed my new closed loop system with LOK flexable tubing (that stuff is great!) cleaned and fed everything. Thank god my wife likes this hobby because it took both of us the entire day to get things back under control. Sorry for venting on you guys, I do not have any friends that are in this hobby and trying to explain what happened to someone else just makes them shake their head
