FS: Barely Used Hamilton 175W 10K MH Bulb $35

I have a barely used (~240hrs) Hamilton 175W 10K MH bulb with mogul base. I changed my bulbs to 14K, so I have an extra.

The price is $35...basically 1/2 of retail.

how is the difference between the 14k and 10k? im probably going with a 14k but have only seen 10k in person and i want more blueish tint

the 14K bulbs absolutely rock as far as color, the problem is if you look at any data about them (Sanjay's site) you see they absolutely stink as far as light energy going into the tank.

the 10kK at one time were said they were actually Ushio.. .don't know how true that was or if someone was just comparing the two to be about the same.

You're probably like me then...get the 14K. The color is better. I use 2x175W 14K MH and 2x96W 10K/actinic PCs. The 10K is better for growth and gives that shimmery effect...it was just too white for my taste. Again, this is all about your preference. I had looked for some site that could compare the same tank with different "K" value lights, but no luck. It would help to see what they look like in person. YOu could always go to your LFS and find a tank you like and ask them what's in the hood.
