yeah i usually just throw my excess away since i forget about it until its growing out of the water. my sump just isnt big enough =(
OT: what is that mr2 boosted on? im working on boosting my sc300 right now. dont know if you remember but when i swung by before for that xenia like 6 months ago i had my 1jz-gte sitting in the back of my truck and im just getting started on it now. =X

Hmm...I hope you guys are all friends to tell him to give this stuff away, interestingly enough, some guy's been selling them for $15 a bag on this other thread and ppl are paying $25 for 2 bags actually.

Most of the people buying the Chaeto from the guys in the other threads are in the Midwest or other areas challenged by a lack of supply. We are just spoiled by how much stuff we have available locally. Can't fault any of these guys for making a buck off the stuff. Not much different than growing out coral frags or xenia and selling them off. Given the overwhelming cost of this hobby, I doubt they are making much of a profit. I used to sell off around 20 pieces of Xenia per month to a LFS, but the hassle of getting rubble rock and then dedicating areas of my tank for grow out became too much of a burden.
Personally, I give my Chaeto away all the time. If looking for some I would just be carefull of the source. A tank with parasite, redbug, or flatworm problem could be transfered to your tank when sharing Chaeto or live sand. Practice safe Chaeto

wwaayyy back when I started my tank (1yr ago) and before my days on RC, I paid $25 from Ocean Pro Aquatics for a "Macro Algae Combo Rock." hahah
A small piece of chaeto and some caulerpa rubber-banded on a palm sized rock.
Since, I've accrued 5 different types of macro, and have hand out 10 bags to my local reefers over 2 different pruning sessions.

Since Cheato selling is "played out" haha, I think I'll remain off topic here.
Who is doing your swap?? I have dreams of doing a 2jz-gte on my 2nd gen GS400. Only problem is that the stock 8 runs so damn well I cant see the need to swap. What tranny are you using? I want to know who your mechanic is because I have a high stall TC I need installed to get the full use out of my 3.76 LSD. I swapped out the diff myself, but there's no way I'm dropping the tranny myself.

Well...honestly, trying to sell it is a smarter choice than just throwing it away. Simply stating "he was going to throw it away anyways" does not justify the reason to give something away either. If you're someone who feels they need to make friends by giving stuff away, it's up to them. There is no right or wrong way looking at this. I will choose to sell Chaeto to some, while others I will give it away to. There are many examples of this in our society. A kid mowing their parent's lawn, versus charging their neighbor for mowing the lawn. That's just a "clean" example that I can think of..
And I think turbos and limited slip differentials should go to the Lounge or emails..ty..

im doing the swap myself in my garage. going with the soarer r154 ***** with the TRD twin disc clutch but stock rear end for now=(
i actually had an aristo 2jz a few months ago but decided against it for ironically, another fish tank. i sold it and picked up the 1jz. as far as the motor itself goes its staying stock with the addition of the aristo 44occ injectors, fmic and misc electronics.
my stock motor is in tip top shape aside from a few leaks and the high pressure powersteering hose...i justified it by saying the high pressure powersteering hose was like $500 and the motor wasnt much more. so thats my story.
anyway...pm if you want to talk more
