FS Fishies - Earl's Fairy Wrasse, Supermale Pintail Wrasse, Magnificent Foxface

Earl's sold.

Thanks Tony. Glad they are going to a good home. Waiting for you to grow out all the nice acros you have so that I can send the cashola back your way hahaha!

Got questions about the foxface being lps/zoas safe. I don't have any softies in the tank so can't say for sure. He is pretty protective of his spot in the tank so will try to nip if another fish gets too close for his liking. I have a lot of rocks in the tank so not much room for him to swim around. Would be nicer for him to roam around in a larger tank.

Maybe Shawn (WHACK) can chime in on whether or not the foxface is coral safe. I'm guessing yes because his 720g is full of corals and they all look nice and happy to me.

He's a model citizen regarding any and all inverts.
He just didn't like my small butterflies. ( yes I have the wrong fish in my tank)

But Rik, you already have a pintail! :lolspin:

(Sorry, but I couldn't resist! :wildone:)
Love this!! Hence the reason why I can't have one :hammer: Getting used to the Katoi. Coloring nicely with the foods I feed and likes to flash the flame when the Reefbrites are on lol.

I have the frozen food Art.

Cf. Lancelatus is the same fish as pintail.

I thought so too before, but apparently they are slightly different. C. Lanceolatus is the one we all know as the pintail while the cf. version is one with very similar characteristics and often time gets group into the same category because there have not been any scientific testings such as DNA to determine the exact ID.

The fish I posted is the juvi version of a stunning one another member on here has. If I were to describe it then it would be a mix between an Earl's, a C. Lanceolatus and the tail color of a red velvet but pointed diamond shape. Only reason I can describe it is because they were all the same 25g tank I have running now. I will try to get a clear pic when lights are on tomorrow.

A true C. Lancelatus is an extremely rare, much larger wrasse. Similar size as C. Rosefascia. They come from deep water Japan and only a few in USA ever. I would love to get one, but sadly can't afford the 5k price tag, lol

As u stated, cf. Lancelatus is a conspec and thus having no defined species yet. You are correct there, but they have been called a pintail as of late, but are indeed the same fish as the cf. Lancelatus.
Yes, please try to get a good pic if possible.

So after doing some more research on the fish, it appears that is it a C. Rosefascia.

I finally had time to trap it today and took some close up picture of it.

Here is some good info I came across...

And a big one I mentioned that a friend has looks like this one...

Yep, definitely a Rosefascia. I love mine. They are beautiful. Some people will call them the "poor mans lancelatous", but the difference in color is huge from the true C. Lancelatus. I believe koji at blue harbor got some C. Lancelatus in a couple years ago. Absoluetly gorgeous. Anyway, glad I could help out. Wrasses are my favorite, especially the fairy wrasses.
Good luck with sale, whoever gets them will not be disappointed

love them Vu :) all 3 came out for feeding this morning. the males are kinda shy but the female is bossing the tank around. patrolling left and right. lol

Nice Tony! Thanks again for coming over. Glad they went to a good home. I bet you the Earl's will take over the tank soon and dominate. He's a bossy little sucker.
