FS: Flame Hawkfish $25

Hello all,

I attempted to form a harem of flame hawkfish 4-5 months ago. Unfortunately I ended up with two males. After several months of chasing each other around, it's time to rehome one of them. They are actually both in my overflow, so you can choose whichever one you want. $25 and he's yours!

Thanks in advance,

John

I drive to Rochester a few times a month for work. Its really not that far just boring. A quick hour and your there.

I knew you could form a mated pair with these fish but I was unaware they form harems.
Males are much larger than females, correct?
So these are BOTH large specimens?

Do they take pellets by chance? (Many Hawks do not)

I'll take this fish PM me your address. Obviously... I can only take healthy fish from a disease free aquarium....

At the time I was investigating multiple flame hawks, I was surprised to read that a male will preside over a territory that will include multiple females, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Seeing three or four at the Strong Museum of Play spurned this curiosity. I rolled the dice and added two flames to an existing one in my tank. While in QT the two flames coexisted peacefully together and formed a pair. I learned the existing hawk must have already been a male because the same two chased each other around the tank quite a bit. Over the last month, the less dominant one was taking more of a beating, so it was time to separate.

Both of these fish are 2.25-2.5" long. They aren't significantly bigger than the female. I've had the pair for probably 8 months and the lone one for 1.5 years.

I've instituted very strict QT procedures after my hassles a year ago. All fish are healthy. All three flame hawks readily eat small NLS pellets.
