Yes, this is the book I won at the raffle a while back, I set it in my closet and havent touched it since. The book sells for $50 but I just want to get it out of the way. I could bring it to the meeting this saturday. Looking to get $25 for it. This thing is like 3' high and 2' wide...it is a HUGE book, full of great pictures of reefs and its inhabitants. PM me if you are interested

Well its just a book and people can sell how they like, but I thought there was a common etiquette on the ORCA forum that you sell to first in line. I usually don't complain but that was rude of you. So I guess he sold it to you without giving me a chance to match the price.

more money is always better then less :-)
haha go thor!
comes in stealth like! like a ninja! lol

Yeah more money is better, but I dont think Thor paid more money. Must be a good book then if everyone wants it. I've never seen or heard of it. I guess Seth should have auctioned it off.

i have it already - but didnt spring for the biggest one :-) i think its awesome for someone not in the hobby to look at. great coffee table book(if you have a coffee table). at that price i would have bought another one and sold my smaller one. :-) cool to see at least once if not a few times.

Yea, as a seller myself, I sell to the first person that comes first... BUT, as a buyer I have no qualms about offering more money for the product...

Sorry about not getting on this thread right away and posting that it was sold to thor32766. But yeah, after posting the original thread, i thought i should have just sold it to the best offer, but i said $25, so i will stick with it. I will bring it to the March meeting.

Seth, RC rules say that you must post a price on anything you post for sale on the forum. You can't just post something for sale to the highest bidder. When you start a bidding war, or try to offer a higher price than offered to take it from someone else that has already agreed to the price, it can quickly turn into a fight, and cause hard feelings. This isn't Ebay lol.

Not trying to say you have done anything wrong Seth. I am just pointing out that this thread is a great example of why RC doesn't allow bidding or posting for sale to the highest bidder threads.

Dugg thank you and well said. I firmly believe offering a higher price to take the item from someone is wrong on these forums and I'm glad I'm not the only one to feel that way. I have seen it happen a few times on the ORCA forum. A little etiquette goes a long way.

A piece of advice...when you sell something start high if you want more money. Most people will talk to you down not up.
