FS: Mexican barberfish butterfly fish (proven aiptasia eater!)

jthao

Super Saiyan
So I have a "semi hard to get" butterfly fish for sale. He's not an "expensive" fish but not readily available in the trade.
Very beautiful fish and healthy. And I havnt seen one in a lfs before, maybe they do come available but not all th time.
Here's what makes him awesome though: this guy is awesome because he has cleared my frag tank of all aiptasia, I obviously can not guarantee he will do it in your tank, but I don't see why not. I am serious though, I had a bad aiptasia problem in the frag tank, and could not remove some of those nasty buggers because they were on same rocks as some of my colonies. This guy after about a week+, got rid of all of them.
I can't keep him because for the past week, he has kept my pyramid butterfly in a corner and will not let him come out without a beating. My pyramid is hungry and scared to death, and my pyramid is a lot more docile, which is what I want. So barberfish has got to go.
This guy definitely will beat up any butterfly smaller than him, original owner got rid of him for same reason (beating up tinkeri). But he will be fine with other types of fish. I have a small chromis in there and he leaves him alone along with a smaller (than him) trigger as well.
I havnt seen him "eat" any corals. And I've watched him for hours couple days in a row. But he has "pecked" at my sunset monti colony, that's the only coral I've seen him peck at. Nothing bad, but retracted polyps for few minutes. But I will say that the colony of sunset monti is on a rock with lots of aiptasia, so I honestly don't know if he was actually going specifically for the monti or just pecked at it while going for the aiptasia. Other than that, nothing else I saw. Probably not a big deal, but I want to disclose any observation I observed, as I want buyer to know everything I know. I will say that honestly, imo, he's not a "coral eater", as the previous owner observed the same "reef safe" behavior as well. But I do want buyer to be aware of everything that I've observed.
He eats all types of frozen, but havnt seen him eat flake or pellets yet. He's somewhere in between 3"-4" long. He's been through QT with original owner and is super healthy.

I got this guy from "joshuaG" last week. He was in my frag tank until tonight. Now he's in the sump, ready for new home.
I drive down to meet josh and paid $70. Buyer (if in sac) can save gas and come get it from me here in sac for $70.
Pm If interested. Link to original post below:

Anyone need aiptasia control? Need him gone. He's in the sump, ready for new home.
I'll take $60

I can ship. But do understand that shipping is easilly $60 or more for overnight fedex. Also I'm not a store, so I can not guarantee doa. If he makes it, he does, if he doesn't, I'm not responsible. I can "Skype" or FaceTime or whatever so buyer can see the fish in its current excellent condition. But once he's out of my hand, I can not gurantee anything after that.
I'll have a lfs pack him, they're experienced with packing and shipping fish. I'll cover the fees for the lfs, if any.
I'm sure no one wants to have this fish shipped for $130-$140, and no DOA gurantee.

But I will deliver him within the sac area.

Well, isn't usps overnight a $35 flat rate? You can also do 2 day shipping which often works in summer. Obviously, you won't be held responsible for shipping.

I don't know what USPS overnight costs as I've never done USPS overnight before, only fedex. Also, maybe you're thinking inverts and corals if you're talking about 2 day. That's crazy for fish. and even if I wasn't responsible for doa, I would never do 2 day shipping for fish, that's like me purposely tying to kill my fishes, I wouldn't do that.
But will ship with whatever company buyer wants for overnight and as long as buyer knows that I'm not responsible for any DOA, it's entirely on buyer. Then I'm cool with that.

what am i saying...... basically i really don't want to ship. i'd probably rather trade it in to a fish store before trying to ship it.
if for some reason, fish store won't take it, no one wants to buy it, and fish is going to have to stay and cause problems, then maybe i'll ship it.
