azshooz - I know it sounds like a lot of blue but the aquablue special bulbs are 12,000k.

Right. That's why I said I'd replace one of the 4 Blue+ with another Special
But that's one of the great things about T5 fixtures, you can tweak the color to pretty much whatever you want.

Kataro: I know what you mean about wanting fewer shadows. I've recently installed 4 T5's (up from 2) on the Coralvue 660 in my hood to supplement two 250w halides in Lumenbrights just because I was getting a lot of shading from large colonies at the surface. I don't know if it's a possibility for you, but have you considered hybrid MH/T5?

I love my T5HO lights. But I have a shallower tank.
I personally don't like the shimmer effect, it was the main reason I chose not to do MH.
I get just over a year out of my bulbs.
