Hello,

I have 2 bags of Rod's frozen food for sale. $20/each in Des Plaines, IL.

I know this food is great stuff because my fish love it. But I think it is designed for a complete system (system with fish and coral ). It contains both very fine and chunky stuff. Since I have only fish, the very fine stuff kinda goes to waste and dirty the water. this is the only reason I am selling them.

So if you have FOWLR, you may have the same thinking as I do. I just feel that Rod's food is designed for a "complete" system.

PM me if interested.

In that case, I can bring them to you on Saturday to cover for part of the sump $$$ :). Actually I have 3 bags, but I am keeping one to be used on new fish, getting them used to frozen food.

Mineis a FOPWLR - anyone agree on this assessment? My clowns seem to like it though a lot goes to the rest of the cleaning crew.

My fish love the stuff, but most of it is way too fine to get eaten. I agree it is for setups with corals and filterfeeders. I wish Rod would consider a mix for us FOWLR people that is chunkier, without all the little bits. When I use it, I see the fish looking real close at the LR for hours later - presumably looking for scraps.

jmicky41- I usually make my own for fish only. Put the ingredients, for example: silversides, krill, mysis, seaweed, selcon, clams, yellowtail, and shrimp in a food processor and roll out in a ziploc bag. Lasts forever!
My puffers like the clam and crab bits that still have the shell on.

I know Rod and I have discussed the option of making 3 types of food: one for corals, one for fish, and a mixture of both(what he does now). Maybe if there is enough demand he'll start doing it. He now has smaller bags of his food for people who have smaller tanks. The bag is the size of his label for reference. I don't remember the price though.

Too bad you've got all this response as I live in Des Plaines (around Oakton Community COllege) COuld probably pick it up in less than 10 minutes depending on where you are. OH WELL...next time.
